The Ohio County Virtual Lions Club believes that it is important to honor your heroes, especially those of country, community, and family. Flags for Heroes is a fundraising event that provides an amazing display of American Flags where we celebrate heroes: military, first responder, mentors, community leaders, or other heroes (past or present) by placing a flag in their honor based on donations from members of the community, businesses, and non-profits. A $50 donation sponsors a flag for Memorial Day, September 11th , and again on Veterans Day. Flags will be proudly displayed in Oglebay Park. Each flag will have a personalized, commemorative tag with the honoree’s name, which will hang on the flagpole until the conclusion of the season, when it will be mailed to the sponsor.
